Anderson, Lela
Lela Anderson is a composer, arranger and music educator in Houston, Texas. She earned B.A. and M.A. degrees in Music from Prairie View A&M University , where she studied with David Cope, Dr. Robert Henry and Dr. Lucius Wyatt. In addition she has studied with composers Robert Avalon, Paris Rutherford, Dr. Micheal Horvit and Dr. Karim Al–Zand.
Baker,Barbara Wesley
Barbara Wesley Baker, internationally noted conductor and educator, conducts the Women's, Men's, Concert Chorale, Gospel, and Chamber Choirs at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland, and for 24 years has directed the Gospel Choir at Colesville United Methodist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Bell,Thomas
Thomas Bell has been the Musical Director of the Mississauga Children's Choir for the past 10 years. He enjoys a multifaceted career as a conductor, teacher, church musician and composer. He began his musical career as a chorister at Salisbury Cathedral, England and later studied music at Durham University. He taught at the London College of Music, and New College Choir School, Oxford, before emigrating to Canada. In addition to his work with the MCC, Thomas teaches music at the Toronto French School, and is the Organist and Choir Director at St. Jude''s Anglican Church, Oakville. His choral compositions are published by Boosey and Hawkes, and Alliance Music Publications.
Bholin,Ragnar
Ragnar Bohlin is renowned as one of the leading choral conductors of the world. Named Director of the San Francisco Symphony Chorus in 2007, he conducts this ensemble regularly in such pieces as Carmina Burana, Handel's Messiah, Bach's Christmas Oratorio and the B Minor Mass and preparing this it for performances under internationally renowned conductors.
Brewer,David W.
David W. Brewer, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, has performed with choirs throughout the Midwest and Southern Regions; along with international tours through Italy, Austria, and the Czech-Republic. Choral highlights of his career include performing at numerous Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma Music Education Conferences; St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, and St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice; St. Stephens Cathedral in Vienna; and the 2017 American Choral Directors Association Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Aside from performing, David has also been a clinician for choirs in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Colorado.
Corina, John
Dr. John Corina (1928-2014) taught composition, oboe, and theory at the University of Georgia, Athens, and performed with the Georgia Woodwind Quintet for twenty-five years. While there he was a full professor, served as Chairman of Theory and Composition, was a member of the graduate faculty and, in 1985, was awarded the university's teaching excellence Professorship. He has been Professor Emeritus of Music since his retirement in 1991.
Crescenz, Valerie
Valerie Showers Crescenz began piano lessons at age 3 and has been making music ever since. She has a B.S. in Music Education and a M.M. in Piano Performance, both from West Chester State College. She has been an instructor at West Chester State, Penn State (Lima campus) and Delaware County Community College, having taught classes in music theory, music history, and piano.
Dearing, James
James Dearing, (October 20, 1943 - November 26, 2010) formerly the director of choral studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Music where he studied with Otto-Werner Mueller and Robert Fountain. Before coming to IUP, Dearing was assistant director of the 7th U.S. Army Soldiers Chorus and director of choral studies at the University of Virginia, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and California Polytechnic State University.
Doebele, Alexa
Dr. Alexa Doebele is associate professor of music and Director of Choral Activities at Concordia University Wisconsin, where she conducts Kammerchor, Selah, and the Chapel Choir, in addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in music education, conducting, and choral literature. She joined the CUW faculty in 2009, having taught previously at the University of Wyoming, the University of Colorado, and Front Range Community College.
Gilliam, Christopher
Dr. Christopher Gilliam is the Director of Choral Activities at Davidson College where he conducts the Chorale, Davidson's premier choral ensemble, Davidson Singers and the Davidson College Choral Arts Society and Pro Arte Orchestra. Proir to Davidson he served as Associate Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Voice at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where he taught voice, choral arranging, three choirs, and was the Artistic Director for the school's annual “Christmas Gala” that attracted thousands of children and adults in eight performances each year.
Gordon, Amy
Amy Gordon is a composer, arranger, singer-songwriter, and vocalist in Los Angeles, CA. Her choral commissions include works for Choral Arts Initiative, Loyola Marymount University Concert Choir, The Los Angeles Belles, The South Bay Chamber Singers, Ramona Convent Secondary School Chamber Choir, Graham Middle School Vocal Ensemble, and Nova Vocal Ensemble for which she serves as composer in residence.
Hatfield, Stephen

Haywood, Carl H.
Carl W. Haywood, a native of Portsmouth, Virginia, is a cum laude graduate of Norfolk State University and a recipient of the Master of Sacred Music (organ) and Master of Music (choral conducting) degrees from Southern Methodist University. Dr. Haywood who also received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California is recognized as a superb choral conductor/organist with superior musical acumen.
Jones, Brian
Brian Jones is the director of choirs at Canton Middle School and Canton High School in Canton, CT, where he teaches four choirs, two chamber ensembles, two a cappella groups, and AP Music Theory. In his 10+ years as a music educator, Brian has been a strong advocate for his young singers, serving CT ACDA as R&R chairs for both middle school and TB repertoire, and is also active in CMEA, having served as a festival ensemble chair at both the middle and high school level.
Kosche, Kenneth T.
Kenneth T. Kosche is currently Professor of Music at Concordia University Wisconsin (Mequon, WI) where he directs the Concordia Chorale (chapel choir) and Kammerchor (touring choir), serves as director of the parish music program, and teaches conducting, choral literature, and composing/arranging to undergrads and in the Masters in Church Music degree program. A native Chicagoan, Kosche earned his B.S. in Music Education and M. S. degrees at the University of Illinois (Champaign–Urbana) and D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of Washington (Seattle). A teacher for nearing forty years, he taught first in public schools in Illinois before moving to Seattle for doctoral study.
Lakschevitz, Eduardo
Professor of Music History at the University of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), Eduardo Lakschevitz holds a Doctoral degree in Music Education at the same University, and a Masters degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC), where he studied with Eph Ehly.
Larkin, Michael
Dr.Michael Larkin is founder and music director of the New Ark Chorale. In addition, Dr. Larkin is chairperson of the Vocal/Choral Department and an artist faculty voice teacher with distinction at the Wilmington Music School in Wilmington, DE where he coordinates the Vocal/Choral Department, teaches studio voice, choral conducting, and conducts the Select Choral Ensemble and the Delaware Youth Symphony.
Larson, Brook Carter
Brook Carter Larson is the new Artistic Director of the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix. Before joining Orpheus, Dr. Larson taught Choral Music Education classes at Arizona State University for six years. During his time at ASU, Dr. Larson founded and directed two choirs: the Sun Devil Singers and the ASU Men's Chorus. In addition to directing choir, Larson taught choral methods, supervised student teachers, and coordinated field experience for music education majors. Before his time at ASU, Larson taught at the middle and high school levels.
McMane, Susan
Susan McMane is Artistic Director of the San Francisco Girls Chorus, where she conducts Chorissima and Virtuose, the organizationýs acclaimed concert, touring, and recording ensembles. Dr. McMane has served on the music faculties of the University of North Dakota and Saint Louis University and was Founding Artistic Director and Conductor of the St. Louis Womenýs Chorale.
Muehleisen, John
John Muehleisen specializes in composing works for choir and solo voice. Since 1996, he has served as Composer–in–Residence and Artistic Advisor for Seattle–based Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble, directed by Loren Pontén and has written more than a dozen works for the group, most recently a choral cycle for women's voices titled After Love, based on poems of Sara Teasdale.
Narverud, Jacob
Jacob Narverud is an American composer, arranger, and conductor. A native of Meriden, Kansas, Narverud studied voice performance at Emporia State University and is currently a doctoral student at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where he holds a master's degree in conducting.
Pegel, David
Tennessee–native composer David Pegel, b. 1986, completed his doctorate in composition from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Specializing in Anglican choral repertoire, his works are praised for an “uncanny sense of the marriage of text and music” (Dr. Angela Batey, University of Tennessee).
Powell, Rosephanye Dunn
Dr. Rosephanye Dunn Powell, Associate Professor of Music, holds degrees from Alabama State University (B.M.E., summa cum laude), Westminster Choir College (M.M. in vocal performance and pedagogy, with distinction), and The Florida State University (D.M. in vocal performance).
Qu, Xixian
Mz. Qu Xixian (1919--) composer, born in Shanghai and graduated from the composition dept. of Shanghai National Conservatory of Music in 1948 ; worked mainly in Central Philharmonic Society; had given personal concerts of choral works in 1987,1999 and 2000 in Beijing and Shanghai; had published Qu Xixian Chorus Selections(2003) including 53 pieces, among which, arrangements: Pastoral, Usuli Bacarole, Clouds Flying Over the Unmoving Sky, and original compositions: Flying Petals, Call Me By My Pet Name, The Cuckoos are Singing, etc. still being performed in the 21c. comcerts; had published C.D. and cassette entitled Flying Petals including 16 chorus works in 1995.
Sieving, Robert
Robert Sieving lives in the Twin Cities area after retiring from a career as a high school vocal music teacher and choir director in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Mr. Sieving's Apollo High School choirs appeared in state conventions of the Minnesota Music Educators Association, state and regional conventions of the American Choral Directors Association, numerous collegiate and international choral festivals including Vienna and Mexico City
Singley, III, H.E.
H.E. Singley is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. He holds a Bachelor of Music from American Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Church Music with organ performance concentration from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Trinkley, Bruce
Bruce Trinkley teaches composition and orchestration, and conducts the Penn State Glee Club. A native of Pittsburgh, he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in composition from Columbia University, where he studied with Otto Luening, Jack Beeson, Charles Wuorinen, and Mario Davidovsky.
Vozzella, Thomas
Dr. Thomas R. Vozzella has served as a Music Ministry Director/Organist in Massachusetts, Kansas, Missouri, Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas since the age of fifteen. In addition to his church positions, he has taught at institutions of higher education in Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, and Kansas.
Wadsworth, Zachary
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Zachary Wadsworth (b. 1983) has received several composition awards, including first prizes in the 2007 ASCAP / Lotte Lehmann Foundation Art Song Competition, the first Long Leaf Opera One Act Opera Competition, the Boston Choral Ensemble Commission Competition, and the Pacific Chorale Young Composer Competition, a Charles Ives Scholarship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, three Morton Gould Young Composers Awards from ASCAP, the Howard Hanson Large Ensemble Prize from the Eastman School of Music, and the Frances E. Osborne Kellogg Memorial Prize from the Yale School of Music. Recordings of his choral works ýO Saving Victimý and ýBeati Quorum Remissae&requo; are available on the Gothic record label.
Young, Melissa Roth
Melissa Roth Young grew up in San Antonio, singing in great schools and community choirs. She was a member of the inaugural Children's Chorus of San Antonio under the direction of Marguerite McCormick, the Madison High School Chorale & Madison Avenue, under the direction of Paula Edwards and the Trinity Baptist Church Youth Choir, directed by Tommy Lyons.
